MGA and KSA Agree on MoU to Clampdown Illegal Gambling

The Malta Gaming Authority and Dutch regulator KSA (Kansspelautoriteit) have signed an MoU to curb the unlawful activities in the markets.

The main aim of this MoU will remain on handling and eliminating criminal activities of gambling in both jurisdictions. Under this MoU, both MGA & KSA would be in conversations over specific policies related to illicit activities. They will work on creating and implementing the best security practices and information to tackle fraud issues.

René Jansen, KSA Chairman, said that such MoUs acts as a great platform to exchange valuable information steadily. He said they are definite that the culprits will get clear communication to stop unlawful activities. If they don’t stop, they will make sure they do by incorporating the best security measures, Jansen continued, he added. Simultaneously, Heathcliff Farrugia, chief executive of MGA, also appreciated the new MoU to prevent illegal gambling. Farrugia said that they both had worked together previously as well. He added, this time also they both are hoping to bring a potent partnership at an international level.

Both the regulators are collaborating to help protect people who are vulnerable to gambling addiction and other relevant harms. Additionally, they are also hoping to make gambling transparent and fair, as much as possible.

Talking about MGA, it is a leader and a well-established regulator within the gaming world. Several distinguished online gambling suppliers and operators fall under MGS’s licensing. It has always strived to bring transparency in the gaming industry while mitigating crime, money laundering, and corruption. Earlier this year, MGA signed two separate MoUs with DRA (Darts Regulation Authority) and ICC (International Cricket Council). Under those agreements, MGA aimed to handle the issue of match-fixing in both the sports. This time the sport chosen is different, but the aim remains the same, i.e., curbing illegal activities.
